Wireless connection

Haven't had the wireless issue in a very long time. Its kind of odd though and I'm thinking my router may be the culprit this time.

When I click on network connections, I get a list of 3, one of which is my own. I type in my WEP key and it either attempts to connect and fail, giving me the WEP key window again, or it connects to "something" but I have no internet connection.
Meanwhile, there is also an unsecured connection nearby which i can connect to, but barely get enough signal to do much of anything, and it usually drops out before it finishes loading google.com.

My wireless card is a Linksys and uses the RA2600 drivers I believe. I should add I'm using the 64bit version of PinguyOS

Update: Linksys Wireless-G, WMP54GR (r=rangebooster) No idea which version of the card it is.

Made a "new" wireless connection to my router, icon says "Connected 100%", but connection to internet not working.

I have got the same wifi card as you and getting the same outputs as you are. You must have a problem with your router. Try hard resetting it then reconfigure it.
Your wifi card defiantly works in Pinguy OS.

I was kind of thinking that, seeing how I can connect to my neighbors router, if the signal was better, I'd leave it 

I'll give rebooting the router a shot when I get home from work tonight. Should I reboot iit while its trying to connect?

Try rebooting, if that doesn't work do a hard reset. There will be a hole some where on the back of the router where you can just about fit a pen into. Hold that down for about 5 secs while its on and it will reset your router back to factory settings.

Tried both rebooting and resetting, no go. I DO see however, an odd local IP address showing on Conky, and I believe thats probably the source of my problems. It shows me as connected, but my router is at 192.168.1.1, not 10.42.43.1

How can and where do I change that?

10.42.43.1 is probably your Public IP. But still it's odd to have 192.168.1.1 as your local IP as this is usually the IP of the router. Your local IP should be something like 192.168.1.100 or 192.168.1.2

What make is your router?

I find this whole thing quite confusing. I should have realized that its NOT a router issue per say, because I'm typing this from my Vista PC upstairs, using a wireless USB stick.
I just went into the router from upstairs PC and copied the info listed for the linux box downstairs, its as follows:

Not sure why its showing as ethernet, but thats apparently part of the problem.

Oh BTW, its an Actiontec MI424WR router. As a side note, I plugged my Linksys Wireless USB network adapter from this Vista box on the linux box and got nothing.

I just did 2 things: Disabled WEP and tried that while still running pinguy, no luck.
Just booted up a Live CD of an older version of Ultimate Edition, v2.3 which I think is either Jaunty or Karmic based.
With WEP still disabled, I'm in with absolutely no issues. Gonna boot back into pinguy (I even switched the install to pinguy x86 to see if that worked, nope) and see what nm-tool gets me..
Meanwhile, I'm gonna run it on Ultimate and see what I get so as to compare.

I'm not sure why it isn't working. Your Wifi card is working in Pinguy OS and can connect to a router as it was able to connect to the linksys router. For some reason it's not connecting to 9x152 (your  router)

This means It must be your router blocking it.

When I went to my router settings page from the Vista box, I had noticed that the connection had "ethernet" next to it for my Linux box, not "wireless" like the Vista box.
 
I was thinking maybe delete the configuration files for the wireless setup and let it rebuild them on reboot?
